Aaron Dobbs served as a Private with the 357 Machine Gun Co. in France during World War 1. He was inducted at Wynnewood Oklahoma September 19, 1917. While on active duty stationed in France he was involved in the following offensives:
St. Miciel 12-16 Sep. 1918, Meuse Argonne 19 Oct - 11 Nov 1918, Villaren Hayes sector 24 Aug. to 16 Sep. 1918, Perveille Sector Preny offensive 26 Sep. 1918. Aaron was gassed by the Germans during one of the attacks. This caused him to have eye problems the rest of his life.
Aaron left the United States on May 26, 1918 arriving in France July 1918, and arrived back in the US on June 7, 1919. He was honorably discharged at Camp Pike Arkansas June 20, 1919 and was paid travel pay to his home of record Atwood Oklahoma
