Joshua (Josh) Alexander Atkinson, age 26, departed this life unexpectedly on December 25, 2018, in Hayward, California. Born minutes after his twin brother, George III on November 29, 1992 to Michelle Rene' Martin and George Henry Atkinson, Jr., in Oakland California, he attended elementary schools in California's Central Valley.

A 2011 graduate of Granada High School in Livermore, Josh was an outstanding athlete, excelling in track and field, and football. Football scholarships to Notre Dame and Azusa Pacific Universities, where he performed as cornerback, enabled a B.S. in communications and completion of post-graduate studies.

Most proud of completing his bachelor's in three and one-half years, Josh returned to his beloved California and pursued a career in sales, ascending the corporate ladder through his exceptional interpersonal skills.

Recently predeceased by his mother, Josh is survived by his father, George Atkinson, Jr. (Denise Fee), siblings, twin George Atkinson III (Diana), Julius Martin, Michelle Atkinson, Jerry Wright (Nidia), Craig Atkinson, Deshell Hippard, Angela Atkinson, Maya Atkinson, Brittany Atkinson, Morgann Schlesser, and Alivia Duffus (Clifton); grandmother, Alicia Hugg Cutting (Cecil); great aunt Carol Bowie, aunts Pamela Brown, Julia Barnes, Mia Terry-Samuels (Byron), Amber Moncrief, and a host of nieces, nephews and cousins.

A Celebration of Life, under the direction of Callaghan Mortuary, will be held on January 14, 2019, at Cornerstone Fellowship, 348 North Canyons Parkway, Livermore, CA. Viewing will be from 11:00 a.m. to 12:30 p.m., followed by services at 1:00 p.m. Interment is private.
