He retired as a lineman from the Upper Cumberland Electric Cooperative and worked at Carwile Mechanical as a plumber. He enjoyed car racing at Buffalo Valley. He enjoyed yard work and worked hard to maintain a well-manicured lawn. He loved helping people and spent a lot of time serving others. He was of the Baptist faith.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by brother: Richard Hawkins; sisters: Evelyn Walker, Pauline Jarvis, and Barbara Farley; daughter-in-law: Linda Stamps Martin and stepdaughter: Angela Garrett.
Robert is survived by his wife of almost 20 years, Linda Clark Hawkins; son, Robbie Hawkins of Cookeville; daughter, Terri Coker of Knoxville; three step-daughters, Pamela Halsell and Janell Rittenberry of Cookeville and Catrina Bertsch of Indianapolis, IN; granddaughter, Lindsey Alison Biance; 8 step-grandchildren and 14 step-great-grandchildren; and best friend, Chester Sullivan.
A celebration of life service will be held Saturday, April 9, 2022 at Midway Baptist Church. Bro. Jeff Wright will officiate.
