James E. "Jim" Curtsinger, 80, Cox's Creek, died Thursday, Jan. 3, 2008, at Life Care Center, Bardstown. He was born April 20, 1927, in Nelson County. He was a retired farmer and a member of the Baptist faith.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Margie Jane Chesser; a grandson; his father, Richard Curtsinger; his stepmother, Mamie Curtsinger; and several brothers and sisters.

Survivors include six sons, Joe Curtsinger and Eddie Curtsinger, both of Woodlawn, Paul Curtsinger, Charles Curtsinger and Gary Curtsinger, all of Boston, and Randy Curtsinger, Bardstown; two daughters, Joyce Patterson, Waddy, and Sandy Gonzalez, Bardstown; 19 grandchildren; several great- grandchildren; two brothers, Clarence Curtsinger, Bloomfield, and Junie Curtsinger, Bardstown; four sisters; and several nieces and nephews.

The funeral was 2 p.m. Saturday at Mann and Greenwell Funeral Home with burial in Bardstown Cemetery. Chaplain Karl Lusk officiated. Mann and Greenwell Funeral Home Inc. was in charge of arrangements
