Mrs. Mary Elizabeth Draper, 71,
wife of Samuel Draper of near Garfield, Frederick County, died very suddenly Saturday noon at her home. She was 71.

Born in Iowa, she is survived by her husband and the following children: Mrs. Evelyn Lewis; Smithsburg: Earl Draper, Smithsburg; three children by a former marriage: Charles and Thomas Alsop of Minnesota; one brother, Thomas Newman of Minnesota; also 12 grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren.

The body was removed to the Creager Funeral Home, Thurmont, where friends may call until the time of service. The funeral will be conducted from the funeral home Tuesday at 2 o'clock with the Rev. George Gray officiating. Interment will follow in Mt. Bethel Cemetery, near Garfield.

Mrs. Mary Elizabeth Draper, 71,
wife of Samuel Brady Draper, near Garfield, Frederick County, died at her home Saturday noon. Under the doctors care for some time her death was sudden. Surviving besides her husband are the following children, Mrs. Evalyn Lewis, of Smithburg, Earl Draper, of Thurmont, Zack Draper of Smithburgh, and the following children by her formar marriage: Charles Leslie Alsop, Jr, of Iowa, Thomas William Alsop of Iowa, and James Edward Alsop of Minnesota. One brother, Thomas Newman of Minnesota also survives, along with 12 grandchildren and eight great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents Edward H. and Elizabeth K. (Richardson) Newman and her first husband Charles Leslie Alsop in 1913, and a daughter Mrs. Harry (Adelle Elizabeth Alsop) Onnen in 1930.
