Mary Helen Shipley Blair, 81, of Hixson, TN, died on Saturday, December 23, 2006, at her home. She was a member of Highland Plaza United Methodist Church. She was a graduate of Erlanger School of Nursing class of 1947 and retired from Hamilton County Health Department in 1985. Mrs. Blair was a member of the Eastern Star Red Bank Chapter and the Ladies of the Oriental Shrine.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Brooks and Ida Shipley, and brother, Melvin Seals.
She is survived by her loving husband of 58 years, Herman E. Blair; son, Bob Blair; daughter and son-in-law, Tawana Blair Stoner, Robert J. Stoner; sisters, Mildred Vandergriff and Peggy May; one granddaughter, Honey Blair; a niece and several nephews.
A graveside service will be held at 1 p.m. on Wednesday, at Hamilton Memorial Gardens with the Rev. Charles Culbertson officiating.
Interment will be in Hamilton Memorial Gardens.
The family will receive friends for visitation from 4-8 p.m. on Tuesday and from 10 a.m. until time of the service Wednesday at the North Chapel of Chattanooga Funeral Home.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Alhambra Shrine Transportation Fund.
Arrangements are made by the North Chapel of Chattanooga Funeral Home Crematory & Florist, 5401 Highway 153, Hixson, TN
