Mr. Anderson, age 67 of Simmesport, passed away on Wednesday, March 16, 2022 at his home.

Doug was born to Paul Douglas "Jack" and Violet "Neatsie" Barr Anderson on September 7, 1954. Upon graduating high school, Doug owned and operated a trucking business hauling asphalt and gravel. He went on to become a Louisiana State Trooper and retired after 25 years of public service. He then served as Avoyelles Parish Sheriff for three honorable terms.

Doug was a life long active member of Simmesport First United Methodist Church. He was a devoted family man who was always willing to help those around him. His greatest joys were his grandchildren and the crawfish ponds that they shared.

He is survived his wife of 49 years, Rene' Brouillette Anderson; his daughter, Pauline A. Daigre (Brian); his son, Douglas A. Anderson, Jr. (Carrie); grandchildren Jaxon, Zachary, and Emily; and step-grandchildren Walker, Lola and West. He is also survived by his brother, Don Anderson (Adele), two nieces and one nephew and many cousins and friends.
