Howard, of Hartburg, passed away Thursday at Christus St. Elizabeth Hospital.

Born in Louisiana to James Edward and Lucretia (Bigler) Stansbury, he had previously resided in Orange and New Orleans. He lived in Hartburg since 1960. He had worked and retired from the Levingston Shipbuilding Company as a fabrication equipment operator. He also enjoyed talking about his service in the Louisiana State Militia.

Howard was preceded in death by his parents, his wife Mable Stansbury and his numerous brothers and sisters.

Survivors include his daughters, Sandra Blakeney and husband Bill; Linda Davis and husband Hagar and Peggy Hickey and husband Arthur; sons, James Stansbury and wife Joyce and Howard Stansbury and wife Michelle; sixteen grandchildren, twenty-one great grandchildren, numerous nieces, nephews, extended family members and friends.
