Child Actor. The son of a Hollywood technician, he got his start (along with several of his siblings) in films at an early age during the late 1920s with minor roles. He moved on to parts of substance in the top-notch pictures "Young Mr. Lincoln" (1939), "Stanley and Livingston" (1939), and "Mr. Smith Goes to Washington" (1939). He appeared in roughly two dozen feature films before leaving the industry. During World War II, he served with the United States Coast Guard and later became a commercial photographer in Hollywood. Along with his siblings, he received a star on Hollywood's Walk of Fame in 1999 for their contributions to motion pictures.
