It is with a heavy heart that we share with you that Amos Lee Ardoin, 94 passed away peacefully at home with the love of family surrounding him on March 1, 2022. Amos was born in Lacassine, LA on October 30, 1927. He was the last of seven children born to Ella and Ozema Ardoin.

He graduated from Lacassine High School in 1945 with perfect attendance as did his son Michael and three grandchildren. Amos left Lacassine and joined the Navy where he served until the age of 21. While in the Navy, Amos served as a Pharmacist Mate, 3rd Class. He served in hospitals on the Destroyer, DM45 Harry F. Bauer. Then he returned to Lacassine and attended McNeese and later he attended Colorado University in Boulder, CO to study pharmacy. While in college, Amos was selected to join Rho Chi, an honorary pharmacy society. He met the love of his life, Jayne Jordan. After graduation from Colorado University as a pharmacist, Amos left Jayne to return to Louisiana to find a job. Amos was hired a Gordan's Drug Store in Lake Charles, LA. On his first vacation, he headed back to Colorado to marry his sweetheart. The two returned to Louisiana in Jayne's 1939 Ford. Amos moved to Jennings where he worked for Manouvier Drugs and later became owner of Ardoin's Drug Store, where he worked tirelessly until retiring in 2010. He devoted over 50 years to helping people with their pharmacy needs. During his life, Amos belonged to the VFW, American Legion, the Independent Pharmacy Association, and served as past Commander for the Knights of Columbus. Amos was a kind and generous man who was loved by many and will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved him.

Amos is survived by his three children, Richard (Jackie) Ardoin of Jennings, LA, Susan Gonsoulin of Jennings, LA, Peggy (Dwain) Ardoin of Jennings, LA; his daughter-in-law, Debbie Ardoin of Jennings, LA; his fifteen grandchildren, Kenny (Stephanie) Gary, Lauren (Christopher) LaFosse, Sarah (Zack) Bond, Joshua Ardoin, Dr. Justin (Sarah) Ardoin, Allison Ardoin, Jordan (Kerri) Ardoin, Stephen (Ashley) Gonsoulin, Stephanie (Donavon) Gonsoulin, Scott Gonsoulin, Sadie Gonsoulin, Dr. Jason (Ellen) Smith, Sasha (Joe) Allison, Renee (Corey) Whitley, Rozi (Michael) Koenigs; his eighteen great grandchildren, Kolby, Riley, & Addison Gary, Riley Trahan, David & Matthew Allison, Ella, Norah, Grace, Hudson, & Jack Koenigs, Ellen & Ethan-Michael Ardoin, Emmie Roy, Olivia Ardoin, Londyn LaFosse, Piper & Reese Whitley.

Amos was preceded in death by his parents, Ella & Ozema Ardoin; his beloved wife, Jayne Elizabeth Ardoin; his sons, Michael James Ardoin, & Allan Lee Ardoin; his son-in-law, Stephen Paul Gonsoulin; his great grandson, Robbie Allison; his three brothers, Horace Ardoin, Dewey Ardoin, Levi "Blackie" Ardoin; his three sisters, Dee Podrasky, Elena Ardoin, Nova LaBorde.

Funeral Services will be held at Matthews & Son Funeral Home in Jennings, LA on Friday, March 4, 2022, at 2:00 PM with Father Trey Ange' officiating.

Burial will follow in Calvary Cemetery where Amos will be laid to rest next to his beloved wife Jayne.

Those chosen to honor Amos as his pallbearers will be his six grandsons, Kenny, Justin, Jordan, Joshua, Stephen, & Scott.

A Gathering of Family and Friends will be held at Matthews & Son Funeral Home in Jennings, LA beginning on Friday, March 4, 2022, at 8:30 AM until 2:00 PM with a Rosary recited at 11:00 AM.
