William Lowndes Broyles was the seventh child of Major Cain Broyles and his wife, Lucinda Nash Broyles. He married Mary Adeline Routh on 16 September, 1858 in Deep Spring, Whitfield County, Georgia. They had five children, three born in Georgia and two born in Anderson County, South Carolina.
