Charles H. Freestate, 87, of Punta Gorda, Florida passed away Sunday, June 17, 2012 at his Punta Gorda residence.
Charles was born June 21, 1924 in Riverside, Illinois to the late Anna and Charles Freestate. A US Army veteran of World War II and a 32nd degree Shriner, he grew up, lived and worked in his native Riverside until retiring to Punta Gorda. He was a member of the former Riverside Shriners Lodge in Riverside, Illinois.
He is survived by his beloved wife of 67 years, Mildred "Millie" Freestate; a daughter, Sharon L. (David J.) Abel; a granddaughter, Judy Shaver, and grandson, Kevin (Jolene) Shaver and great grandson, Tyler Shaver.
