DEMPLER, ANITA H. (FLAHERTY) RAY, 83, entered into eternal life on Sunday, December 30, 2007, at Wesley Manor McCandless Center, where she lived. She was born December 28, 1924, to the late John and Lena Hardesty Flaherty. She grew up on a farm in Meade County, KY. She was retired from the Essex House Restaurant, where she worked with her brothers. She was also retired from the Bethlehem Baptist Church Day Care and the Thomas Merton Academy Day Care, where she cared for infants. Other than her parents, she is predeceased by her husband, Bill Dempler; an infant son, Charles Ray; her sisters, Ella Heavrin, Josephine Shelman and Mattie Martin; brothers, Claude, Charlie, Thad, Roscoe and Garland Flaherty. She is survived by her ten daughters, Mary Alberteen Snook (Harold), Faith Johnson (Wayne), Trista Wafzig (Norbert), Kimberly Wimsatt (Larry), Tanya Scott (Gary) and Daphni Dempler, all of Louisville, Wendy Whitaker of Indiana, Rhonda Renfrow (Rudy) of Summersville, KY, Sonya Thomasson of Jeffersonville, IN and Tuijuana Jacobs (Jake)of Richlands, NC; three sons, Lonnie Ray (Sharon) of Mt. Washington, KY, Lowell Ray (Patria) of Destin, FL, and Shane Dempler (Mary Lou) of Louisville; one stepson; William Harold Dempler of Madison, IN; two sisters and one brother, Mary Ray, Alberta Curl and John Flaherty, all of Louisville. She is also survived by 31 grandchildren; 20 great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews, who thought the world of her. Her funeral Mass will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Wednesday at Guardian Angels Catholic Church, 6000 Preston Highway, with burial to follow in Evergreen Cemetery. Visitation will be noon - 8 p.m. Tuesday at Ratterman & Sons Funeral Home, 3800 Bardstown Road. Memorial contributions may be made to Guardian Angels Church, Wesley Manor Benevolence Fund, 5012 Manslick Road or WHAS Crusade for Children.
