Carl E. Myers
Dover - Carl E. Myers, 74, passed away Monday, January 24, 2022, at UPMC Memorial
Hospital in York. He was the husband of the late Linda L. (Bruaw) Myers who died January
27, 2021. They were married for over 55 years.
Carl was born January 26, 1947, and was the son of the late Harry and Ruth (Holtzapple)
Myers of Dover, PA.
He graduated from Dover High School in 1965. He was employed as a truck driver for
Preston Trucking company in York until his retirement. He earned numerous awards for safe
driving during his career. Carl started his career after graduating high school and also married
Linda who he describes "as the love of his life." He worked hard during his lifetime and was
a loving and devoted provider, husband, and father.
Carl is survived by his two sons, Joe Myers and his wife, Cheryl of Marietta and Jason Myers
and his wife, Connie of Dover; a daughter, Ginny Dunlap (Myers), and her husband, William
of York; three grandsons, Vincent, Mitchell, and Levi Myers; his brother, Stephen Myers and
his wife, Sue of Shiloh; a sister Lois Fisher and her husband Barry from, VA; a sister-in-law,
Lynne Myers of CA, and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his, wife,
Linda and his brother, Ray Myers of CA. Carl will be missed terribly by his family, and also
by his former co-workers and friends.
Carl was an avid outdoorsman during his life who loved nature, fishing, and especially loved
to hunt deer. He had many talents and hobbies, was tremendously creative and an amazing
artist.
Services for Carl will be Monday, January 31, 2022, at Diehl Funeral Home & Cremation
Center, 87 South Main Street, Mount Wolf. Visitation will be from 6:00 PM to 7:00 PM,
Monday at the funeral home. Memorial service will begin at 7:00 PM, following visitation.
Officiating at his service will be Pastor David Salazar of Ambassadors Bible Chapel in
Manchester, PA.
