Lavern was my first fur baby - I had as an adult. Rescued her from a woman at the beach and she rode home with me on the back of a Harley. She was just a little ball of fur and turned into an 80 lb. dog at one time. She was so loving of people. Not so much other animals. - She had an imaginary perimeter around her that animals weren't allowed inside. She grew up with our German Shephard {Jake} - they were each others ride or die. But even he respected her space.
I believe she was traumatized when she was a puppy. . She would not walk out on a pier or bridge. She would try and follow you out in the water but would not go out on anything over water.
