U.S. ARMY VETERAN
James Adison Agner, 89, of Salisbury, NC passed away Sunday, January 16, 2022 at The Citadel of Salisbury.
He was born June 8, 1932 in Rowan County, NC to the late Elma Martha Trexler Agner and Calvin Agner. Mr. Agner attended Rowan County Schools and was a Rockwell High School graduate. He was a veteran of the US Army. He was a driver for the Department of Transportation. Mr. Agner was a member of St. Matthews Lutheran Church.
Preceding her in death was his wife, Audrey Thompson Agner on May 27, 2021 and sister, Joann Cooper.
Surviving is his son, Darrell Agner of Salisbury, NC; daughter, Tonya Madden and husband Owen of Rockwell, NC; brothers, Hubert Agner and wife Mary and Ben Agner and wife Frances both of Salisbury, NC; and sisters, Lucille Wagner of Swannanoa, NC; Jane Waller and husband Bill and Shirley Raymond all of Salisbury, NC. Also surviving are his grandson Steven Miller and great-granddaughter Harmonie Miller and 3 step-great-grandchildren.
The family will receive friends from 11-11:30 AM Thursday (Jan. 20) at Summersett Funeral Home with a graveside service following at noon at Rowan Memorial Park Mausoleum, officiated by Rev. Brian Smith.
