William "Billy" Neal Parker, 78, passed away Sunday, December 12, 2021 at his residence surrounded by his family and under the care of Hospice of the Golden Isles. He was born November 30, 1943 to Doyle and Emmie Akins Parker and was a 1961graduate of Glennville High School. Billy Neal was retired from the Georgia Department of Transportation as a civil engineer after 34 years. He lived in Glennville all of his life until retiring and moving to the coast. Billy Neal was an avid golfer, loved to hunt, to fish and was a licensed boat captain. He was a member of the Piney Woods Coon Hunters Association, Glennville First Christian Church where he was a deacon and attended Morgan's Chapel United Methodist Church. Billy Neal was a family man and a loving husband, father, grandfather and great grandfather. He is preceded in death by his parents and a sister, Doylene Parker Swindell.
He is survived by:
Wife of 59 years, Brenda K. Parker of Townsend, Georgia
Children, Kelvin Parker (Joni) of Shellman Bluff, Georgia
Scott Parker (Michelle) of Glennville, Georgia
Neil Parker (Angie) of Glennville, Georgia
Siblings, Derrell Parker of Las Vegas, Nevada
Kay Kicklighter of Jacksonville, Florida
Grandchildren, Layne Parker (Falone), Cody Parker (Maci), Andrew Parker (Erin), Brandon Parker (Natalie), Luke Parker, Emmie Claire Parker
Great Grandchildren, Braden Parker, Logan Parker, Liam Parker, Aiden Parker and Riley Parker
Several nieces and nephews also survive.
Visitation will begin at 5:00 pm, Wednesday, December 15, 2021 at Brannen-Kennedy Funeral Home. Funeral Services will be held 11:00 am, Thursday, December 16, 2021 at Glennville First Christian Church. Burial will follow in Glennville City Cemetery.
