He will be carry by four wheeler driven by his uncle Ray Boy Franks to Bivens Cemetery in Bivens, LA Burial will be at Boxwood Church of Christ Cemetery, (Bivens Cemetery) in Bivens. Visitation will be Wednesday, Dec. 26 from 2-9 p.m., at the church, and again on Thursday, Dec. 27 from 8 a.m. until time of service.
Franks died Sunday, Dec. 23, in Merryville in a hunting accident.
Survivors include his wife, Gerri Franks of Merryville; son, Cole Michael Franks of Merryville; father, Johnnie E. Franks of Merryville; mother, Kayla Franks of Merryville; brother, Kenneth L. Franks of Merryville; sister, Tamela Carlson and husband Anthony of Merryville; he also survived by his grandmother Vivian L. Whitman Franks of Merryville, LA and he was proceeded in death by his grandparents Lionel and Opal Kinney and grandfather's Lois Franks and Ozel Franks. He is survived by a host of nieces and nephews.
Franks was a member of the Riverbottom Hunting and Fishing Club. He was a life long resident of Beauregard Parish. He was employed by Temple Inland. Mike's hobbies included: spending time with family, especially camping with his wife and son. He was a 1994 graduate of Merryville High School. Mike was loved by many and had lots of friends. The highlight of his life was his son. He loved to hunt and fish.
