Our beautiful, beloved daughter, sister, and friend, Angel Jonell Cruz, 37, went home to be with the Lord on Saturday, December 11, 2021.

Angel was born in Roswell, New Mexico on November 13, 1984, to Julia Marie (Foster) Cruz and Faust Neria Cruz. She was the sixth of eight children. She enjoyed reading, playing the flute, and participating in cross-country running and volleyball in school. She graduated from J.M. Hanks High School in 2003. She attended the University of Texas at El Paso, but was ready for a new city and adventure, so she transferred to St. Edward's University in Austin, TX. She graduated from St. Edward's University with a bachelor's degree in Business Administration in Accounting and she was pursuing her master's degree.

Angel was a sweet, beautiful, amazing daughter who had a big heart and a kind, gentle soul. Angel's contagious smile always lit up the room. She loved spending time with her family and friends, attending concerts, and listening to music. She was always there to lend a helping hand in any way she could. We are so proud of her and will forever cherish our memories of her. While our beautiful Angel was taken from us far too soon, we know that she is in heaven, free of this world's troubles and wondering when we will join the celebration there.

Her eldest sister, Anna, and husband, Rodney Flores, have wonderful memories of Angel. We will miss her beautiful sense of humor. She loved traveling and enjoying nature. She was incredibly intelligent. She was very generous and would do anything to help a family member or friend. Her spirit was amazing and can never be replicated. We will dearly miss and love her always.

Her brother, Jonathan, will always remember Angel for her beautiful smile and super chill, easy going, independent personality. Angel was so good to us all and we were lucky to have her with us while we did.

Her sister, Kristina Blackmon, will forever remember Angel for her free spirit, fun soul and love for life. We always laughed about the funny times when we would fight over the phone and clothes when we were younger. I will deeply miss her and be sure to live my life to the fullest in honor of celebrating her life.

Her sister, Julie, and her husband, Gilbert Monarez, will miss catching up with Angel, and hearing her funny stories about her and her friends who she loved as much as her family. Angel was independent, fearless and hardworking, but Angel also knew how to slow down and fully appreciate the moment and people around her. Her niece, Genevieve, and nephews, Lucius and Moses, will always love and remember their dazzling, lovable, goofy Aunt Angel.

Her youngest sister, Elizabeth, her husband, J.R. Magallanes, and niece, Lexi, will always remember Angel for her generous heart, genuine love for music, and being a source of positivity. We will miss her gorgeous smile, beautiful soul, and energy.

Her niece, Lauren Flores, will miss Angel's strength and love. She always made me laugh and was always there for me when I needed her. She enjoyed every moment of her life, always keeping busy with music, reality TV, hiking, and spending time with her family and friends.

Her soul sister, Jasmin Hildebrant, will forever remember her beautiful smile, amazing strength, pure independence, and contagious energy. She was always so free spirited and happy. She was one of the most beautiful people I have ever known. She will always be on my mind and forever in my heart.

Her sister by heart, Dianna Flores, will always cherish their special bond. Angel is forever our wild soul with the kindest heart. Her laugh brought happiness to everyone she reached. She will always be with us, dancing by our side. To say she was a best friend would never be enough, she was the best there ever was.

Angel is preceded in death by her father, Faust Neria Cruz, brothers: Faust Robert Cruz and Christopher Foster Cruz, her grandparents: Wilfred Foster, Muriel H. Foster, and Albert Cruz. Angel will be cherished forever in the hearts of her mother, Julia Marie Cruz, her brother, Jonathan David Cruz, and sisters: Anna Marie Flores, Kristina Renee Blackmon, Julie Caroline Monarez, and Elizabeth Cruz. Angel will be lovingly remembered by her four nieces, two nephews, extended family, and many dear friends.
