Elwood Duane Towle died Friday, Dec. 14, 2007, at the Kanabec County Hospital in Mora. He was 77 years old.
He was born on Dec. 31, 1929, in Brook Park to Ernest and Vera (Parsons) Towle. He grew up in Brook Park. On July 13, 1950, he was united in marriage to Janet Liesinger.
In 1952 they moved to rural Brook Park. In 1958 they moved to the Otto Anderson farm where they made their home and raised their six children whom he loved very much. That love overflowed to his 16 grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.
Although he worked at several places such as Spencer-Kellogg in Minneapolis, Blau-Knox in Mora, Mora Industries and Boatel, his true character came shining through with his perseverance in farming. In 1956 he bought the Hinckley milk route, and continued with his farming until the day he met his Savior face to face.
He and his wife attended New Tribes Bible Institute at Waukesha, Wis., graduating in 1980.
After returning to the farm in Pomroy Township, he faithfully continued serving in leadership at the Pomroy Chapel for nearly 50 years.
