Mr. Gus W. Sutton, Sr., age 99, of Canton, passed away on Tuesday, October 30, 2007 at Northside-Hospital Cherokee.
Funeral services are scheduled for 2:00 p.m. Friday, November 2, 2007 from the Sosebee Memorial Chapel with the Rev. Gene Childers and Rev. Glenn Heard officiating. Interment will follow in Cherokee Memorial Park. The family will receive friends after 7 p.m. Wednesday, all day Thursday and until the funeral hour on Friday at the funeral home.
Mr. Sutton was a charter member of McHelen Baptist Church. He was retired from the Tip Top Poultry Plant.
Survivors include his sons, G.W. Sutton, Jr., Willie B. (Bill) Sutton and Wayne Sutton all of Canton; daughters, Mary Jane Wiley, Betty Griffin, Bessie Kelley all of Canton and Kathy Ponder of Cartersville; sisters, Christine Barnes and Evelyn Cantrell both of Canton; 24 grandchildren, 37 great-grandchildren and 9 great-great grandchildren.
Sosebee Funeral Home, Canton, Georgia is in charge of arrangements.
