Arlene Joyce (Kopplin) Allen was born in Green Lake on October 23, 1931, the daughter of August and Phoebe Kopplin. She was the baby sister to Mary Ellen, who called her "Teeter," a name that stuck throughout her entire life.

MIDDAY
Teeter graduated from Green Lake High School in 1949 and UW-LaCrosse in 1953. She married Max Allen in Iowa, and they had two children together, Kim and Penny.

Teeter started teaching in 1955 and retired in 1989. She was certified to teach Phy-Ed, Health, and Biology, and did so at Green Lake High School for many years. Teeter loved everything about school, from her students, to teaching sports, and especially teaching her grandchildren and great-grandchildren how to play sports. Throughout her years at Green Lake High School, she was also a volleyball coach, Senior class advisor, chaperoned many Senior Class trips, Pep Club Advisor, cheerleading and PomPom Advisor, served as the chair of many prom committees, and was a lifeguard at Hattie Sherwood beach. She enjoyed playing softball, bowling, and was a member of the Green Lake Alumni and the Green Lake Historical Society. She enjoyed collecting things, and especially had a passion for anything Mickey Mouse and love visiting Disney World.

SUNSET
Teeter was called home to her family and friends on December 13, 2021, at the age of 90. There she was reunited with her parents, August and Phoebe; her sister, Mary Ellen Roth; her brother-in-law, Edward Roth; the father of her children, Max Allen; a great niece, Olivia Simon; and other family members.

She leaves behind to cherish her memory: her children, Kim (Mary) Allen and Penny (Terry Timmons) Reyes; eight grandchildren, Tim (Cheryl) Wagner, Jessica Thorson, Matt (Bessie) Allen, Nathan Wagner, Lindsay (Brett) Barkelar, Adrian Reyes, Braydon Reyes, and Brittny (James) Gerig; and eleven great-grandchildren, Kyndel and Avril Wagner, Sabrina Thorson, Savannah and Charlie Bartlett, Arlo Allen, Evan and Sienna Barkelar, and Gavyn, Carsyn, and Bowyn Gerig.

Private graveside services will be held on Saturday, December 18, 2021 at Dartford Cemetery in Green Lake, WI. A Celebration of Life will be held in the future.
