Maryann (Priest) Abbott passed away on December 3, 2021 in Georgetown, Texas at the age of 76 after a long battle with cancer.

Mrs. Abbott was born on February 8, 1945 in Penns Grove, New Jersey to Louis and Mary Grace (Goetaski) Priest.

She attended St. James Regional Grammar School and St. James Regional High School and continued her pride of her Catholic faith and education by sending her children to her alma matter as well.

She married George L. Abbott, Jr. on May 14, 1966 at St. James Church in Penns Grove, New Jersey and raised her children on the East Coast immersing them with her love of the ocean, sailing, camping, and love of nature.

She was employed as a Mental Health Coordinator for the state of New Jersey and Salem County for over 20 years. She graduated from Wilmington University with a BS in General Studies.

When she retired, Maryann and George set out on an adventure by sailing down the East Coast to the Keys and finally settled in Marathon, FL. After 8 years they ventured to Georgetown, TX to settle near their youngest son and his family.

Maryann had many talents including being an avid cake decorator and taught classes for many years; she loved to run in her younger years, only to replace it with walking and swimming later in life. Maryann and her husband loved to camp, travel to many countries, and spent time enjoying nature especially the water/ocean or Jersey shore.

She was preceded in death by her parents.

She is survived by her husband of 55 years, George L. Abbott, Jr.; son, George L. Abbott III and his wife, Kathleen; daughter, Michele Abbott, and her partner Philip Milazzo; son, Keith Abbott and his wife, Catherine; her 5 grandchildren, Amanda Abbott, Emily Marron, Grant Marron, Louis Abbott, and Martin Abbott; and her two brothers, Louis Priest, and wife his Susan, and Lawrence Priest and his wife Patricia.

Maryann was cremated and a Celebration of Life will be Saturday, March 26, 2022 @ 10am at Ramsey Funeral Home in Georgetown, Texas.
