Surviving are his parents, Pastor Robert A. Winfree Sr. and Ella Louise Jones Winfree; maternal grandparents, John and Georgia Simpson; paternal grandparents, Cornelius Sr. and Dorothea H. Winfree; four brothers, Robert A. Winfree Jr., Lamont Jones, Robert A. Johnson and Jamaal A. Winfree; sister, Elaine M. Buckingham; six aunts, five uncles, a host of other relatives and friends.
Remains rested at Scott's Funeral Home, 115 E. Brookland Park Blvd., where the family received friends Tuesday, December 18, 2007, from 7pm to 8pm. Funeral services held 1pm Wednesday, December 19, 2007, at First Baptist Church, 1501 Decatur Street. Dr. Dwight C. Jones, pastor. Eulogy by Rev. Robert A. Winfree Sr. Interment Maury Cemetery.
