Julia Marie Redding Taylor, of Burke, VA, born March 3, 1943, in Washington, DC, daughter of the late Dr. Mark Leo Redding and Julia Marie Carney Redding, passed away on November 26, 2021 at Fairfax Hospital, Falls Church, VA.
She was the wife of Lionel S. Taylor, mother of Lionel Steven Taylor II, of Bel Air, MD and Kelley Taylor Hearne (Steven) of Arlington, VA and grandmother to Jade Taylor, Jude Taylor, Nicholas Hearne, Kathleen Hearne and Ryan Hearne. She was the sister of Dr. Mark Leo Redding, Jr., Dr. Gorman J. Redding, Dr. David L. Redding and Dr. Richard J. Redding.
She was raised in Hanover, PA, educated at Chestnut Hill College in Philadelphia and graduated from George Washington University. She was employed as an analyst with the Defense Intelligence Agency before taking time to raise her two children. She returned to the workforce at the National Technical Information System at the Department of Commerce and ended with the Defense Technical Information System at the Department of Defense.
She was a member of the Chelsea Garden Club for over 50 years, an active member of the Chapter AV, P.E.O. Sisterhood and Holy Spirit Catholic Church. Time spent with her family, grandchildren and friends is what she relished most of all.
She is survived by her husband, son, daughter, son-in-law, five grandchildren and her brother, Dr. Richard J. Redding.
Visitation at Fairfax Memorial Funeral Home, 9002 Braddock Road, Fairfax, VA, Wednesday, December 1, 1 to 3 PM and 5 to 7 PM. Funeral Mass at 11 AM, Thursday, December 2, at Holy Spirit Catholic Church, 8800 Braddock Road, Annandale, VA with burial at Fairfax Memorial Gardens, 9000 Braddock Road, Fairfax, VA.
