Pat was born at the U.S. Army Presidio Hospital in San Francisco in 1935, but soon after, the family moved to Southern California. She grew up in a couple of different subsurbs of Los Angeles and graduated from El Monte High School. She worked at Boulevard Cleaners and later, Montgomery Wards, in Rosemead, California, until she retired.

Pat was married three times. Her husbands were Bill Stewart, Bob Kehne and Frank Gutierrez. She gave birth to six sons: Steve, Bruce, Dan, Bill, John and Robert and somehow managed to balance being a working mom and a mother.

After they retired, Pat and her third husband Frank moved to Quartzsite, Arizona. They loved to travel and they also loved having friends over to the house for weekly parties. Due to medial problems, their final years were both difficult, but their retirement years in Quartzite, overall were some of the happiest years of their lives.

Frank died from Alzheimers disease in 2010. Pat remained in Quartzsite, where she lived until she had a debilitating stroke, and then fell and broke her hip. Her accident sent to to a nursing home in Laka Havasu in 2020. She died in hospice care in 2021.
