Sterling Addison Mullinix, 95, of Hedgesville, WV, went home to be with the Lord on June 10, 2021, while a patient at the Martinsburg Medical Center, Martinsburg, WV.
He was born August 27, 1925, a son of the late Asbury and Lillian Mullinix; grew up in Howard County, attending and graduating from Lisbon High School in the class of 1942. After graduating he was employed by Southern States Cooperative Service (SSCS) for many years. During his employment at SSCS he attended college and earned a Bachelor's degree in Accounting. He was later employed by the United States Department of Defense, from which he retired in 1988.
Sterling was the beloved husband for 72 years of Ann Warfield Mullinix, loving father of Hillary Allison (Mullinix) Sauer (Scott), devoted Grandfather of Nicolas Sauer (Heather), and Great Grandfather of Lucas and Benjamin Sauer. In addition to those above he is also survived by a sister Eileen Day (Calvin) and many nieces and nephews, and great-nieces and nephews.
Sterling was preceded in death by four brothers, one sister, and a daughter, Melissa Ann (1962) [at birth], and his grandson Ryan James Sauer (2006).
