ALICE L. (STRATTON) DEFIBAUGH , age 84, of Wilmington, Ohio and formerly of New Paris, Ohio, died Friday, March 11, 2005 at Clinton Memorial Hospital in Wilmington. Born on December 7, 1920 in New Paris, Ohio, she was the daughter of the late Elbert R. & Faye E. Marshall Bragg. A 1937 graduate of Jefferson High School, Alice retired in 1979 and moved to Lewistown, Ohio and then to Wilmington in 1982. Alice had worked for ten years as an inspector for DECA in Richmond, IN and as a nurses aid for twelve years having worked for the Richmond State Hospital and a nursing home in Michigan. Member of the St. Paul United Methodist Church in New Paris. Preceded in death by 1st Husband: Joseph W. Stratton, Sr.; 2nd Husband: James W. DeFibaugh; Son: Joseph W. Stratton; Brother: Paul Bragg; Sisters: Ruth Lamb and Eleanor A. Irelan; Granddaughter: Misty Riner.

Survived by Son and Daughter-in-law: Jack A. & Patsy Stratton of Lenoir City, Tennessee; Daughter: Virginia L. Reed of Wilmington, Ohio; Stepson and wife: James L. & Janice DeFibaugh of Brownsburg, Indiana and Sister: Martha Burton of Richmond, Indiana. Several Grandchildren, Great Grandchildren and Great Great Grandchildren.

Funeral service will be held at 11:00 A.M. on Tuesday, March 15, 2005 at Barnes Funeral Home - 109 West Main Street - New Paris, Ohio with Rev.Robert Dungan officiating. Interment will be held in Springlawn Cemetery - New Paris, Ohio. Family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the funeral home.
