There will be a graveside prior to his celebration of life at Resthaven Memorial Cemetery at 11:30 AM. His family will host a time of fellowship and remembrance from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM, Friday, December 03, 2021, at Lake Ridge Chapel and Memorial Designers. He passed on Saturday, November 27, 2021. On May 15, 1978, Micah was born to Ronald and Pamela Steffen in Lubbock, TX. He graduated from Coronado High School. He married Tami Carey on July 26, 2008, at Lake Ransom Canyon Chapel. He built his career in landscaping and irrigation in Lubbock, TX. He started by working at his dad's business to expand it into lawn irrigation, then continued on at Metro Lawn and Landscape, then Paradise Lawn & Landscape, until he took on an expanded role as a building superintendent at DreamBuilt Homes.
Micah was saved at a young age. He loved Royal Ambassador camp with his father, building and racing his pinewood derby's. His love of sports came at an early age, daddy coached his baseball team, he loved basketball, broke his wrist jumping off our trailer to do a slam dunk. He had to choose between basketball or soccer in high school, so soccer became his passion. Made a trip to Mexico with his traveling soccer team. Raised money selling poinsettia, hotdogs, and nachos to pay for his trip. One of his childhood friends, Tom, took him often to Sipapu Ski resort, where he learned to ski and his second passion for snowboarding began and continued any chance he had. He traveled to Dallas w/ aunt and uncle to a Ranger's game was able to get Nolan Ryan's autograph. He loved playing hackysack and would challenge anyone for a match. He made wonderful memories with his cousin, Daniel, spending the summer in San Antonio at his Granny and Papa Steffen. He was the baby of the family, so he probably got away with more so his brother and sister reminded us. Another cousin, Danny, who he loved and grew up with and probably got into more mischief than we can talk about, traveled to Arkansas to visit him – apparently, they were ornery and pestered their sisters. Micah loved big, kept in touch with his friends from far and wide. When he married Tami, Dylan 3yrs old came along with the package, which Micah did everything he could to make a blended family work. He loved all his children, worked hard day and night to provide for them. Dylan, Hanna, Landon, and Wyatt made his life complete. They took them on cruises and to the beach. He wanted them to experience life no matter the sacrifice. If you didn't know Micah in his younger years, you missed out. He grew into one of the most selfless men with a big heart and love for others. He cared deeply about his buddies who went off to war, those who never returned, and those who did. He had faults as we all do, but he strived each day to be a better man, a better son, brother, husband, father. What a legacy he has left! Now we all have to pick up the pieces and love as we've never loved and carry on because we have seen how short life can really be. We will see him again if you know his Savior.
