Benedict was born January 14, 1943 in South Bend to Benedict and Alfreda (Cencelewski) Banicki, Sr. He was preceded in death by his father, and a brother, Dennis Banicki.
Left to cherish Benedict's memory are his mother, Alfreda Banicki; daughters, Rebecca Watson & Debra Kazden Delaney; grandchildren, Sean Davitt, Derek Moran, and Nick, & Amanda Kazden; and cousins.
Benedict graduated from Washington High School and Wabash College. He retired from the St. Joseph County Library after many years of employment. Benedict enjoyed reading and playing chess.
