Curtis leaves to mourn and treasure his memory, his devoted wife of 68 years, Mary Ellen Covington. He was preceded in death by his oldest son Kenneth Lamar Covington, Sr., in February 1982 and his youngest son Gerald Tyrone Covington in November 2018. He has four remaining sons: Lynn Covington (Altheia), Reginald Covington (Jeanne) of Adel, GA, Aaron Covington (Barbara) of Nashville, GA, and Eddie Morris of Orangeburg, SC; two daughters: Diane Robinson of Stone Mountain, GA and Latrice Covington of Tallahassee, FL. In addition, he leaves a loving sister Mrs. Jealean Smith of Adel, GA, and a host of grandchildren, great-grandchildren, great-great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, cousins, and dear friends to cherish his memories. He also leaves Mr. Tom Thomas of Adel, GA, to love their long friendship.
Curtis Covington was a lifelong devoted member of Saint James AME Church of Adel, GA, where he served faithfully on the church usher board and was a prior church trustee and steward member. One notable thing c about Curtis Covington and he never met a stranger.
A celebration of life was held Saturday, November 6, 2021, at 4 PM at Adel Church of God Family Life Center with Rev. Timothy Lewis, the eulogist. Burial followed in the Sparks African American Cemetery.
