Obituary
Clell Dean Craig passed away at 7:59 p.m., Wednesday., December 2, 2020, at Carroll House in Carrollton, Missouri.
He was granted with an earthly life of ninety-seven years, five months, and fourteen days.

On June 19, 1923, in Ridgeway, Missouri, Harley and Oletha (Landis), Craig was blessed with a son, Clell Dean.
Clell grew up on a farm outside of Ridgeway, Missouri, and attended Ridgeway High School. Upon graduation, he entered the military, and he served his country honorably in the United States Army during World War II as a mechanic. Clell was united in marriage to Virginia Ila Hamilton in Troy, Kansas, on September 1, 1946, and this union was blessed with two sons, Larry and Gerald. Clell and Virginia shared 61 years of marriage before departing him in death on February 17, 2008.

Clell was employed as a soil Field Rep. for the Natural Resources Conservation Service, and later, he worked at Charlie's Texaco Service Station in Carrollton.

He was continually active with Junior League Baseball, and he never missed any of his son's sporting events.
Clell wore many hats for his family; coach, fishin' buddy, best friend, and most importantly, Dad. He loved his family dearly and was always their rock and foundation. Clell enjoyed camping, fishing, and playing cards. He especially enjoyed the many fishing trips to Canada and Devils Lake, South Dakota, where their traveling gang had many great times. He was incredibly proud of his lifelong membership with the VFW Pence-Lovell-England Post #1773 and remained active in his duties.
Clell is survived by a son, Gerald Craig of Carrollton, Missouri; a grandson, Jason Appleberry of Carrollton, Missouri; many grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Harley and Oletha Craig; his beloved wife, Virginia; a son, Larry Craig; five brothers, Wilbur Craig, Clayton Craig, Steve Craig, Gene Craig, and Richard Craig; and a sister, JoAnn Baker.

A graveside service will be held at 3:00 p.m., Tuesday, December 8, 2020, at the Sharon Chapel Cemetery, rural Bethany, Missouri, with Pastor Pat Gorsett officiating the service.

There will include a visitation from 10:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m., Tuesday, December 8, 2020, at Foster Funeral Chapels, Carrollton, Missouri. Following the visitation, we will drive in procession to Sharon Chapel Cemetery, rural Bethany, Missouri, for the committal service and placing Clell to eternal rest next to his beloved wife, Virginia.
Veterans of Foreign Wars, Pence-Lovell-England Post #1773, Carrollton, Missouri, will provide full Military Services.
In Clell's memory, and as an expression of sympathy, memorial contributions may be made to Veterans of Foreign Wars, Pence-Lovell-England Post #1773, Carrollton, Missouri. They may be left at or mailed to Foster Funeral Chapels, 201 South Main Street, Carrollton, Missouri, 64633.
