Held On Tuesday
Funeral services for Jeff Garrett, were held Tuesday, July 25, 1961, at 2p.m. at the Hazel Dell Baptist Church with ministers Ferd Brown and Lonnie Garrett.
Jeff Garrett, 79, of Minco, died at the home of his daughter, Mrs. Ruby Charlton at 7:05 a.m. Saturday, July 22, 1961. He was born , September 10, 1880 in Georgia.
Mr. Garrett married Laura Belle Martin, on April 5, 1903 at Ardmore, Oklahoma. She preceded him in death Oct. 6, 1945. seven children and five brothers and sisters have also proceeded him in death.
A retired farmer, he has lived with his daughter since 1955, having formerly lived west of Minco for 50 years.
Survivors include; one son, Lawrence, Stillwater; six daughters, Mrs. Etta Wilson, Mrs. Goldie Hall and Mrs. Clara Coe, all of Stillwater; Mrs. Marjorie Burris, Guthrie; Miss Rachel Garrett, Enid and Mrs. Charlton of Minco.; two sisters, Mrs. Ethel trail, Oklahoma City, and Mrs. Nora Finney, Colrado Springs, Colo., four brothers Cluade, Minco; Burman, Barnsdall; Luther, Lawton; George, Gracemont, also 24 grandchildren and 22 great grandchildren.
Pallbearers were Bob Slover, Oscar Black, Kenneth Brown, Bill Kuhlman, Herman Randall and Elmer Wilhite.
Interment was under the direction of the Reynolds funeral home, Minco.
