John A. Acton, age 85, of Butler, Kentucky, passed away on Monday, October 10, 2022, at his home. He was born in Peach Grove, Kentucky, on September 9, 1937, a son of the late John Acton, Sr., and Bertha Morris Acton. He was a United States Army veteran, serving 30 years as First Sergeant (1SG) in the Army Reserves. He was a computer maintenance technician for American Telephone and Telegraph (AT&T) and a farmer.
In addition to his parents, John was preceded in death by his wife, Janice Faye Osborne Acton. He is survived by: three sons, John Acton, Joseph Acton and Jefferson Acton; a daughter, Jill Acton Jaiswal; two siblings, Billy Acton and Ruby Acton Baughan; six grandchildren; and 13 great-grandchildren.
Visitation will be from 4:00 until 8:00 p.m. Sunday, October 16, at Peoples Funeral Home, in Butler. Funeral services will be held at 12:00 p.m. Monday, also at the funeral home. John's final resting place will be at Peach Grove Cemetery.
