Opal was born in Waynesboro, Tenn., June 29, 1916, to parents George and Laura Brewer. Her parents moved to California when Opal was three years old. She attended grammar school at Imperial, Calif. and high school at El Centro, Calif.
She married Floyd Olive in 1934 in Yuma, Arizona. He was employed with the Imperial Irrigation District. They moved to Fallbrook, California, in 1952. They bought a house in 1952 and lived there the whole time. In 1961 they opened the NAPA Fallbrook Auto Parts store which Floyd ran until his death in 1988. Opal helped at the store until her death.
Opal worked at Harrison's Drug Store for 17 years. She loved people. She loved to sew and had made many beautiful things. She also loved to travel. She liked to go to the Fallbrook Old Timers picnic every year when she was able.
She leaves two children, Jerry Olive and wife Sherrie, Darleen and son-n-law Lee Shaeffer, two grandchildren, Lynda Brown and husband Bob, Steven Shaeffer and wife Leslie; six great-grandchildren, Aubrey, Amber, Gabe, Zack, Saleh and Lindsey; also many nieces and nephews whom she loved dearly. Opal dearly loved her family; they were always first in her thoughts.
A funeral service was held at 1 p.m. Tuesday, April 4, at Berry-Bell & Hall Mortuary with Pastor William Wolters of Calvary Chapel in Murrieta officiating.
