Ruth Irene (Schnarrs) Hubler, aged 92, passed away peacefully October 6, 2021 surrounded by her loving family. She was born February 11,1929 in Gearhartville, the only daughter of Carl and Margaret (Shimel) Schnarrs. She graduated from the Philipsburg High School in 1947.
On April 17,1948 she married Clark J. Hubler at the United Church of Christ in Philipsburg. The couple resided in Allport where Ruth became the mother of five children. She devoted her life to their care and interests. She modeled hard work, sacrifice, and service and was always involved in anything her family pursued. She was the dependable mom who could be called at a moment's notice for help by the school, the church, various organizations, and her neighbors.
After rearing her family, Ruth fulfilled a lifetime dream and became a nurse. She was employed by the Clear Haven Nursing Home in Clearfield. (Now named Mountain Laurel Nursing Care) She retired in 1994 to care for her husband and they celebrated 64 years of marriage shortly before his death in 2012.
Ruth was a lifetime member of The Allport Church which later became part of the Gethsemane Church. Her generous heart and abounding energy provided decades of service to the Sunday and Vacation Bible Schools, the youth and women organizations, community outreach, and fundraising efforts.
Ruth's life can best be summarized as service to her family, her church, her community, and the elderly. She was a proud grandmother who took an active role in her grandchildren's lives and provided unconditional love and attention. She will be lovingly remembered and greatly missed.
Ruth is survived by her daughter Sharron Eisenhauer and husband John of Ashland, PA; daughter Linda Bressler and husband Robert; son Gary Hubler and wife Kimberly; son Ted Hubler and wife Mary Jo; all of Morrisdale, PA and daughter Penny Carlson and husband James of State College. She also has 20 grandchildren, 38 great grandchildren, and 2 great-great grandchildren. She is also survived by six sisters -in-law.
She was predeceased by her parents, spouse, brothers (Robert, Mahlon, and Harold Schnarrs), a son- in-law, William Ziembo Jr. and daughter- in-law Madelyn (White) Hubler. Ruth is the last of her generation.
Services will be held Monday, October 11, at 1:00 p.m. with Pastor Chris Pfleegor at the Gethsemane United Methodist Church in Allport. There will be a private viewing for the family preceding the service. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests a donation to the Gethsemane United Methodist Church.
Special thanks to the staff at Wynwood House at Greenhills in State College for their kindness and loving care this past year.
Strange & Weaver Funeral Service, Morrisdale, is in charge of the arrangements.
