Robert B. Aardema, 73, passed away on Tuesday, October 5, 2021. He was born on March 25, 1948, to Albertus and Nellie Child Beus Aardema in Ogden, Utah. He graduated from Ogden High School in 1966 and attended Weber State University.

He served in the US Marine Corps from August 1966 to July 1970. He married his high school sweetheart Gayle Youngberg on October 17, 1968 in Ogden, Utah. Their marriage was later solemnized in the Ogden LDS Temple.

Robert was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and served in various callings. He loved working with the youth.

He worked as an aircraft welder at Hill Air Force Base for 30 years until his retirement.

Robert loved fly fishing and all outdoor activities, metal detecting, painting pictures and working on wood projects. He took great pleasure in attending all sporting events and other activities his grandkids were involved in.

Robert is survived by his wife, Gayle Youngberg Aardema of South Weber; son, John Aardema of Thatcher; daughters, Debra (Wade) Clark of West Haven, Sandra (Justin) Bennett of Layton, and Lori (Chris) Loock of South Weber; 13 grandchildren, Ben Clark, Zac Clark, Trevor Clark, Christopher Clark, McKinzie Tureson, Shaylee Bennett, Carlee Bennett, Logan Bennett, Kaylee Aardema, Braxton Loock, Kallee Houston, Josie Loock and Lawson Loock; three great-grandchildren, Quinn Houston, Ivy Loock, and Indy Loock; and sister, Connie (Clark) Baisdell. He was preceded in death by his parents, brothers, Nicholas Aardema, Delbert Aardema, Dale Aardema; and sister, Helen (Mark) Pewtress.

Graveside services will be held on Monday, October 11, 2021 at 11 a.m. at Lindquist's Washington Heights Memorial Park, 4500 Washington Blvd.
