Albert Francis O'Toole, Sr. passed away on August 3, 2021. He was 87 years old. This October 17th, he would have been 88 years of age. He was born and raised in the Kensington section of Philadelphia.
He and his wife, Joan(nee Barton) were married for 68 years. They were married on August 1, 1953.
He and his wife are the parents of 4 children, Joann, Lucy Ann, Virginia and Albert F. O'Toole, Jr. Both Joann and Albert Jr. predeceased him.
He is also survived by 4 grandchildren and 7 great grandchildren.
He was a member of the Philadelphia Police Dept. as a patrolman and later joined the Highway Patrol. He retired from the Police Dept. in 1982.
He belonged to and trained the Highway Patrol Drill
Team which performed at the John F. Kennedy Stadium(unfortunately the stadium is no longer there). He was instrumental as an assistant coach for the Philadelphia Spirit(Semi-Pro) and the Wizards softball in Philadelphia, Pa.
Albert F. O'Toole Sr. was predeceased by 7 of his 8 siblings. Predeceased are: Mary Koller(nee O'Toole); Anna Marie Weney(nee O'Toole); Harry J. O'Toole, Sr.; Robert J. O'Toole,Sr.; and John P. O'Toole, Sr.
He was also predeceased by 3 nephews and 1 niece.
Survived by one sister, Joan Pacitti(nee O'Toole) and husband John.
Relatives, friends and fellow members of FOP Lodge 5 are invited to his viewing and funeral Wednesday, August 11th from 9-10:30 in the St. Bernard's Church, 7341 Cottage St., Philadelphia, Pa. His funeral Mass will begin at 10:30 a. m. and his interment will be held privately.
