His life story began on February 4, 1950, born to the parentage of the late Artis Nathaniel Hollins, Sr. and Julia Mae Sutton Hollins in Chattanooga (Hamilton County), Tennessee. He grew up the second eldest of five sons.
After giving his life to Christ at an early age, he became a member of Wesley Chapel Church. He attended Orchard Knob Elementary, later graduating from Riverside High School. Robert enjoyed a fruitful life of employment which included working for
TVA, but he spread his wings and soared when he began self-employment in the carpentry industry. He was well-known around the Chattanooga area for the excellent work that he produced.
A new chapter was written when "Toe", as he was affectionately known by all who knew and loved him, met and married Diana Carter. The two would remain married "'til death do us part" for over 37 years.
Robert is preceded in death by his parents; three brothers, Anthony, Gregory, and Ralph Hollins; and father-in-law, Earnest Carter, Sr.
Those left to tell his life story and turn the next page are his wife of many years, Diana Carter Hollins; son, JaMichael Hollins; step-daughter, Mareisha Roddy; brother, Artis Nathaniel (Patricia) Hollins, Jr.; mother-in-law, Elnora Price; three sister-in-laws, Christine Hollins, Deborah Hollins, and Deborah Loper; aunt, Elizabeth (Rev. Clarence) Steger; along with a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends.
