Cpl. Joshua "Josh" Kasim Adams 24 of Bassett died Saturday November 24, 2007 in Bassett. Born on January 6, 1983 in Martinsville the son of Kasim Adams and Cindy Adams of Bassett. He was a 2001 graduate of Bassett High School and a member of Orchard Drive Baptist Church, and served in the United States Marines serving two tours of Duty during Operation Iraqi Freedom. In addition to his parents he is survived by his wife Shelly Adams of the home, one daughter Ashlee Brooke Adams of the home, brother Brandon Adams of Bassett, grandparents John and Sandra Adams of Bassett, Clyde and Peggy Gilley of Martinsville and great grandmother Alma Joyce of Bassett.
Funeral services will be conducted Thursday at 1 p.m. in the South Chapel of Bassett Funeral Service with the Rev. Richard Hanks officiating and full military honors by the U.S. Marines. Burial will be in the Old Center Primitive Baptist Church cemetery.
The family will receive friends tonight (Wednesday) from 6 to 9 p.m. in the South Chapel of Bassett Funeral Service and at other times at the homes of his parents, Kasim and Cindy Adams at 460 Bittersweet Dr., Bassett; and at the home of his in-laws, Gary and Bobbie Lackey, 4193 Chestnut Knob Rd., Ridgeway.
