A tribute to Floyd Timothy Adams

Floyd Timothy Adams - or Timmy or Tim was born on January 27, 1941 to Floyd James and Dorothy Belle Thurman Adams In Altavista, Campbell County, Virginia, USA.

He went to school in Altavista, Virginia. Then in 1950, the family moved to Victoria, Virginia. He then went to Victoria High School where he graduated in 1959. After graduation on July 23, 1962, he went into the Army as a Paratrooper. He was stationed at Fort Bragg, North Carolina and became a member of the 82nd Airborne Division. He was awarded with a Parachutist Badge and Army of Occupation Medal (Berlin). During his time in service, his division was stationed in Berlin, Germany during the Berlin Crisis when John F. Kennedy was president of the United States of America. He received an Honorable Discharge on June 30, 1965.

After his service he became a life member of the Blue Ridge All Airborne Division. 82nd Airborne Division Association - America's Guard of Honor in Lynchburg, Virginia.

Since he was very artistic when he came home he took a drafting/architectural course and went to work for Wiley and Wilson where he was a draftsman.

During his lifetime, he was fortunate enough to travel - one, a nice trip to the Hawaiian Islands.

He is survived by his sisters, Dale Monahan and Jennifer Bradford of Blackstone, VA. He is preceded in death by parents and his younger brother.
