SPRINGFIELD, IL - James R. "Bub" Marksberry, 85, of Springfield, died at 9:05 a.m., Wednesday, April 13, 2016, at his home.
He was born June 26, 1930, in Sparta, Ky., to Clarence and Ora Dalton Marksberry.
Survivors include one daughter, Cathy Marksberry of Gibson City; three sons: Jimmy (Mary) Marksberry of Florida, Elwood (Sue) Marksberry of Carpentersville, and Michael Marksberry of Springfield; three grandchildren; two great grandchildren; and one sister, Hettie Kinman of Springfield.
He was preceded in death by his parents; one son, Michael Marksberry; two brothers; and one sister.
James was a heavy equipment operator for Palumbo, retiring after 20 years.
He enjoyed fishing and horses, especially riding. Jim belonged to the local operating engineers Union #150. James's biggest enjoyment was taking care of his family.
Private family services will be held.
