J. T. Dixon

COOPER (Special) – J. T. Dixon, 86, died at 8 a, m. Saturday at the home of his daughter, Mrs. Willie A. Woodall here, and funeral service was held Sunday afternoon at the Baptist Church at Posey, Hopkins County, with interment in Peerless Cemetery by the side of his wife, who died about 16 years ago.

Tapp Funeral Home, Sulphur Springs was in charge.

In ill health for many years, Mr. Dixon had been living for several months with a son in Sulphur Springs, until a short time ago he came to the home of his daughter here. He had lived with another daughter, Mrs. P. T. Spees, until the cyclone last April practically destroyed the Spees home.

Surviving are these children: Mrs. Will A. Woodall and Mrs. P. T. Spees, Cooper; Mrs. Elizabeth Beck, Spearman; Mrs. C. J. Parker, Will Dixon and Alph Dixon, all or Dallas; Jeff Dixon, Bud Dixon, Mrs. Martha Oxford and Luther Dixon, Sulphur Springs; Charlie Dixon, Posey, and Mrs. Mollie Day; Vernon; a large number of grandchildren and several great-grandchildren, besides one sister, Mrs. Mary Griffith, Commerce.
