Deceased: PARMA L. HOLLOWAY; Date: October 17, 2000
Parma L. Holloway, 94, of the 5900 block of Adderley St., passed away Monday, Oct. 16, 2000, in Sentara Nursing Center.
Born in Morgan County, Ga., Mrs. Holloway was the daughter of the late Charlie and Mollie Long Lankford. She was the widow of William Thomas Holloway and was also predeceased by a daughter, Thelma Murphy, and two sons, Jesse and Thomas Holloway. Mrs. Holloway was a member of Atlantic Shores Baptist Church, Virginia Beach.
Survivors include three sons, Marvin Holloway of Chesapeake, Preston Holloway of Virginia Beach, Travis Holloway of Norfolk; four daughters, Etheleen Murphy of Virginia Beach, Anne Sawyer of New Lexington, Ohio, Mildred Carlile of Tulsa, Okla., and Shirley Porter of Chattanooga, Tenn.; two sisters, Love Presley of Eatonton, Ga., and Elsie Ellington of Conyers, Ga.; 20 grandchildren, Betty, Raymond, Frank, Kathleen, Carol, Joan, Dennis, Jimmy, Barbara, Cathy, Susan, Sandra, Cindy, Thomas, Darlene, Harlan, Stan, Mark, Teri and Mike; 23 great-grandchildren; and nine great-great-grandchildren. She will be long remembered by all those dear to her.
The funeral will be conducted at 2 p.m. Thursday in the chapel of Oman Funeral Home, Great Bridge, 653 Cedar Road, Chesapeake. The Rev. Wade Smith of Little Creek Baptist Church will officiate. Interment will follow in Charity United Methodist Church Cemetery, 4080 Charity Neck Road, Virginia Beach, VA 23456. Viewing will begin on Wednesday with the family receiving friends from 7 to 8:30 p.m. "
