Frances Margaret Parmelee of East Hartland, beloved wife of 56 years to the late Paul G.
Parmelee, died peacefully on Tuesday, August 31, 2021.

Born in Sutton, VT, Frances was the beloved daughter of the late Morrill and Margaret
(Langevin) Curtis. She moved to Connecticut as a young girl and would later meet her husband and love of her life, Paul Parmelee. Together, they raised their family in West Granby and Granby before settling in East Hartland in 1957.

After briefly working for the Hartford Insurance Co., Frances devoted her life to being a loving and dedicated wife and mother. She was a true family woman and often put the needs of others before her own. Frances never felt obligated to care for family and friends; she did this out of an abundance of the love and generosity that defined who she was. Anybody fortunate enough to have known Frances will always remember her kindhearted nature and her selfless, genuine concern for others. She will be forever loved and dearly missed.

Frances leaves two sons, Stephen P. Parmelee and David C. Parmelee, both of East Hartland; a daughter and son-in-law, Karen and William Zaverton of Westbrook; and a grandson, Andrew Zaverton. In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by her sisters, Beverly A. Gilbar and Emma L. Curtis; her brothers, Allen F. Curtis and Howard A. Curtis; and her stepfather, Olaf Holtham.

A private memorial service and burial ceremony in East Hartland Cemetery will be at the
convenience of the family. There are no calling hours. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Granby Ambulance Association, 1 Pegville Road, Granby, CT 06035.
