Mrs. Ferrell's Rites Slated

Mrs. J.C. Ferrell, 63, died Wednesday morning in Memorial Hospital.

Funeral services are scheduled for 3 p.m. Friday in the Emblem Baptist Church with the Rev. O.E. Short officiating.
Burial will be in the Emblem Cemetery under the direction of Tapp Funeral Home.

Mrs. Ferrell was born Dec. 25, 1904 in Hopkins County, the daughter of William A. and Dora Lee Davis Speed. She was a lifelong resident of Hopkins County and was a member of the Emblem Baptist Church.

She married J.C. Ferrell in Greenville on Sept. 22, 1928. He survives.

Also surviving are a son, Jerry Ferrell of Sulphur Springs; three daughters, Mrs. Gertrude Mobley of Sulphur Springs, Mrs. Sally Williams of Cooper, and Mrs. Betty McDonald of Dallas; two brothers, Allen Speed of Oklahoma City, Okla. And John Speed of Sulphur Springs. ; three sisters, Mrs. Columbus Story of Sulphur Springs, Mrs. Vern Erion of Winnsboro, and Mrs. Jack Price of Como; eight grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.

Pallbearers will be Homer Ferrell, Grady Ferrell, Cecil Ferrell, Dorsey Hammonds, Travis Lundy, and Truman Parker.
The body will remain at the Tapp Funeral Home until 12:30 p.m. Friday and will lie in state at the church from 1 p.m. until time for services
