Richard Marshall Burr, age 78 of Westville, NJ passed away on August 28, 2021 after a difficult 8 month battle with brain cancer. Son of the late Samuel M. Burr and Erna (Fierke) Burr. He is Survived by his loving wife Janet (Enzman) Burr, proud father of Sarah E. Piddington (husband Josh) and Richard M. Burr Jr., and his adoring grandchildren Henry and Olivia, also survived by extended family and friends. Richard was a long-time employee of the Boro of Westville having served as Administrator & CFO and also worked part-time for Gateway Regional High School. Richard loved history and was an accomplished genealogist. He belonged to 25 patriotic and hereditary organizations and was proud to have 18 Revolutionary War ancestors. A graduate of Woodbury High School (class of 1961), the Philadelphia College of Pharmacy & Science and the University of Delaware. He had a love of nature, especially the study of birds. He was a faithful member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints Sewell Ward. His service will be held at the LDS Church 259 Lambs Road, Sewell, NJ 08080 on Friday, September 3rd at 11am. Viewing will be held prior at the church from 9-11am. Burial will be at Manahath Cemetery followed by a luncheon at the church. The family is grateful to the doctors, nurses and caregivers who cared for Richard.
