John David Meils, 63, husband of Cathy Hosford, passed away unexpectedly at their home on Saturday, August 14 2021 in Thornton CO.
He was born in Beloit, WI on August 29, 1957, the son of Jim and Frances Noder Meils. John was an HVAC Tech at Accutrol for the last 6 years.
John and his family moved to Colorado from California, in 1991. He loved the outdoors, fishing, panning for gold, and exploring with his metal detector with his sons. He was quite the inventor and problem solver. We all loved his can-do attitude and a fixer of all our mechanical problems. He made some pretty silly contraptions. He and Cathy were avid Denver Bronco and NASCAR fans.
He will be greatly missed by his family and friends. He is survived by his wife Cathy, stepmother Shan of Loveland, CO: sisters Nancy of Frisco, TX, Susan of Anchor Point, AK, his brothers Ted and wife Peggy of Cave Creek, AZ, and James of Denver: his children Selena and husband Chris of Josephine,TX, David of Denver, Johnny and wife Crystal of Cape Coral, Fl, Summer and partner Mike of New Castle, CO.; step-children James of Thornton, Liz of Livingston, CA, and Brian and wife Kim of Colorado Springs: 13 grandchildren, and 8 nieces and nephews.
A celebration of John's life was held on September 3rd, 2021, at 2:00 pm at DeWitt and Tabler Funeral Home located at 12114 Grant Circle, Thornton, CO 80214
Donations in lieu of flowers to a charity of the donor's choice.
