Carrie Parker
Funeral services for Carrie Parker, 85, of Sulphur Springs will be held at 2p.m. Thursday, Aug. 12, at Tapp Funeral Home Chapel with the Revs. Cleatus Speed and Larry Kruger officiating.
Interment will follow the services at Ridgeway Cemetery with Larry Vaughn, Joe Parker, Durwood Parker, Jerry Ferrell, Billy Earl Lundy and Spencer Hinkle serving as pallbearers. Honorary pallbearers are J.R. Hinkle and Archie Glossup.
Visitation will be held from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. Wednesday, Aug. 11. at Tapp Funeral Home.
Mrs. Parker died at 9:20 a.m. at Sunbridge Care and Rehabilitation Center in Mount Pleasant.
She was born in the Emblem Community of Hopkins County on Jan. 1, 1914, the daughter of George H. and Elota Manis Ferrell. She married Freeman Parker in Commerce in 1933. He preceded her in death on Oct. 27, 1988.
Mrs. Parker was a homemaker. She was a member of Emblem Baptist Church.
Survivors include her three sons, James Parker of Sulphur Springs, Bobby Parker of Winnsboro, and Benny Parker of Ladonia. One brother Cecil Ferrell of Mesquite; one sister Hazel Ferrell of Sulphur Springs; four grandchildren , Mike Parker of Tawakoni, Shirl Lee of Commerce, Tina Stout of Sulphur Springs and Didi Thurman Sulphur Springs; and three great-grandchildren, Amber Lee, Seth Stout and Tyler Stout.
Mrs. Parker was preceded in death by her parents, six brothers, two sisters and one grandson, Danny Parker.
