Sherman R. Morris
Funeral services for Sherman R. Morris, age 62, of Sulphur Springs will be held at 2:00 p.m. Tuesday, June 2, in West Oaks Funeral Chapel with Rev. David Burns and the Rev. H.E. Smithey officiating. Burial will be in the Posey Cemetery.
Visitation will be from 6:30 to 8:00 p.m. Monday at the West Oaks Funeral Home.
Pallbearers: Mike Hooten, Leonard A. Morris, Jerry McCoy, Jamie Fite, Jimmy Morris and Doug Hoskinson.
Honorary pallbearers: Nephews
Mr. Morris died at 3:44 p.m. Sunday in Hopkins County Memorial Hospital following a brief illness.
He was born in Bay City, Texas, September 11, 1935, the son of Sam Henry and Effie Jewel Harris Morris.
He was a self employed concrete contractor, being engaged in concrete business most of his life. He was a member of Peerless Baptist Church and a resident of Sulphur Springs since 1960. He served with the United States Army from 1956-1958.
He married Patsy Jane Ferrell in Greenville, Texas, November 26, 1960. She survives.
Other survivors: two sons and daughter-in-law, Russell and Penny Morris of Claremore, OK and Clifford and Teressia Morris of Sulphur Springs; three brothers, Marlin Morris of Odessa, Marvin Morris of Sulphur Springs, and Riley Morris of Como, Texas; two sisters, Florence Russell and Hazel Reese of Sulphur Springs; five grandchildren, Derrick and C.W. Morris, Carroll Joe Anders, Tyrel Clark Anders, and Windi Anders.
